Welcome to our family farm
The Baronio family has been growing fresh Australian produce in the Stanthorpe district since the 1930s and at Applethorpe, since the mid-1970s.
Over the years, we’ve grown many different types of fruits and vegetables in various locations. Today, it’s all about fresh Aussie strawberries and apples grown on our home farm in one of the prettiest and highest altitude spots in Queensland. Our location is the secret ingredient to growing some of Australia’s best fruit – fertile soils, cool nights, warm days and plenty of glorious Queensland sunshine all combine to ripen and sweeten our fruits to perfection.

Farming at Applethorpe since the 1970s
We’ve come a long way since our forebears emigrated from Italy in two separate waves in the 1920s and 1940s. Today, third-generation producers, Stephen and Nathan – sons of owners John and Louisa – run our family farm on the eastern side of Applethorpe. Our passion for growing runs deep in our hearts and we’re proud of what we do…

Come and pick your own fruit!
True to our Italian heritage, we love sharing food! That’s why we open our farm on special days throughout summer so you can pick your own strawberries and apples. Come and visit us, enjoy a fun family day out and leave laden with fresh seasonal fruit – there’s nothing quite like it. We’ll see you soon!
Seasonal work
We have seasonal work for fruit pickers, packers and farm workers between September and May. Harvest work is fast-paced and fun. You’ll be working alongside our family, hand-picking and packing some of Australia’s most delicious fruit. We start early when fruit is at its freshest, so you’ll have plenty of time after work to enjoy the sights of the Granite Belt.
